Team Lead Operator

Description

Glavel, Inc. is looking for highly motivated individuals to work independently and within a team at their Saxon Hill manufacturing plant. Team Lead is a position that reports directly to the Plant Manager. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated communication & leadership skills; mechanical & electrical aptitude; and experience driving forklifts/heavy equipment. The Team Lead will support production deadlines, delegation of tasks, product flow, shift handoffs, maintenance and repairs, and maintenance of production metrics. In addition to overseeing the dock schedule for inbound/outbound shipments, operating and monitoring manufacturing equipment in the production of foam glass aggregate. The Team Leads will be responsible for following and enforcing all safety guidelines and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, not required)

2+ years experience in manufacturing environment

Demonstrated leadership abilities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Demonstrated project management skills

Must be able to lift at least 50lbs

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods

Capable of operating in an environment with dust, loud machinery and PPE requirements

Responsibilities

Ensure that machinery is up-to-date and functioning properly

Responsible for training Plant Operators and assigning daily plant duties

Monitor safety and adherence to plant protocols

Prepare line setups for upcoming shifts and closeout shift transitions

Promote high standards of manufacturing excellence

Communicate with management regarding means to plant improvements

Valued Skills

Experience in multiple manufacturing environments

Factory startup or new product startup environments

Empathy and understanding of interpersonal relationships

Agility and adaptability of protocols and processes

Plant Operator

Responsibilities

Operate production equipment accurately to produce specified formulations of foam glass aggregate

Confirm output is within specification with Team Lead

Inspect equipment regularly and report and malfunctions or wear and tear to Team Lead

Work in a team to support daily production goals

Perform all duties in accordance with standard operating procedures, good manufacturing processes, and other company policies

Valued Skills

Experience in pilot production environments

Ability to follow specific and careful instruction

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Capable of working to specific production schedules
